On Saturday, September 14th, four of our scouts braved wet, steep and slippery hiking conditions to honor those who perished in the 9/11 attacks by raising our flag over East Osceola Mountain near Lincoln, NH. Our crew this year was Alex Fortin, Matt Lewandowski, Tommy Martineau and Joe Mendenhall. For some this was not only their first participation in Flags on the 48; it was also their first ascent of a 4,000 footer. We welcomed Webelo Evan Furness and his dad, Austen who also braved the challenging conditions. Great job gents! I'm proud of your perseverence through adversity! - Mr. F.
I would like to thank everyone who donated money to the Friends of Scouting last year and this year.
We are more than half way to reaching our goal. Anyone who has not made a contribution an wishes to, please see me (Mike Eno) or my wife Sara Eno for Pledge Cards.
Reminder, you do not have to give the money now. You have until the end of the year. You can also pay in one lump or in payments. You can have the payment be automatic or the Council can bill you.
This coming Thursday, February 21st, I will be going to Pack 5 to give a Friends of Scouting Presentation. I am looking for someone who would like to go with me. You will receive Community Service Hours for this. I would request that you be in full Class A uniform. If you are interested, please contact me.
