There will be an opportunity to earn the Eagle required Personal Fitness Merit Badge. The group will get started early in April at a time and place to be determined. This merit badge requires a 13 consecutive week commitment to an exercise program so it is ideal to start in the spring - you will then have a long stretch of warm weather to select a 13 week period. The merit badge is open to all scouts and is a good first merit badge for younger scouts.
Maureen Delamater and I (Martin Baker) will be working together to assist scouts in achieving this merit badge. If you are interested in getting started please email to me your name and best email contact to - bakernh@comcast.net.

For those scouts that can't make this Friday (9/16) Personal Fitness Merit Badge session there will be a second opportunity on Sunday September 18th at 11:00AM. We will meet at the McKelvie running track. All scouts who started their programs in June, and followed the programs without interruption, are now eligible to take the final test - provided you have completed and documented your 12 week fitness program. This means you must have a completed worksheet! The worksheet should explain in detail what you did over the 12 week period. It should include exercises for strength (legs, arms, chest and stomach), cardiovascular endurance and flexibility. If you didn't include all three areas then you have not completed the merit badge 12 week fitness requirement.
This announcement is for any scout interested in getting started on the Personal Management merit badge. This merit badge takes a minimum of 12 weeks of activity to complete. This merit badge will introduce you to the topics of stocks, bonds, credit cards, credit scores, interest rate, buyer's remorse, budgeting your money and risk. Mastering these skills is a requirement to become an Eagle and might lead to significant wealth and prosperity. The following scout alumni - Michael Bloomberg, Steven Spielberg, J. Willard Marriott, Ross Perot, Stephen Bechtel, Charles Dolan - have done quite well after using the knowledge obtained in this merit badge .
