I would like to extend my congratulations to Troop 414 for another successful food drive. This year Scouting for Food was a success with over 8,400 items collected. We were able to fill the Bedford Food Pantry and still deliver two truck loads of food to the Daniel Webster Council for distribution throughout the local area.
Thanks to a great turnout byTroop 414 scouts we had an excellent start yesterday for Scouting for Food. All door tag routes were out by a little after 11:00AM. Next week we collect the food donations starting at 9:00AMSaturday Nov. 12th. Look forward to seeing that top notch Troop 414 spirit once again.
Scouting for Food will be held this year on Saturday November 2nd and November 9th . On November 2nd we ask that scouts come to the Bedford Presbyterian Church (Church Road, Bedford) between 8 AM and 12 noon to pick up the door tags and place them at the homes along the route they can choose. The following week we ask that the scouts return at 9:00AM to the church to get a food pickup route.
The participation of all scouts is vital to the success of the food drive.
Thank you Scouts and parents! The first week of Scouting for Food was a success. Thanks to your great support by 11:00 AM all the tag routes were accounted for. This may very well be a record. Today was a testimonial to scout spirit and citizenship.
Thank you to everyone in Troop 414 who made this year’s Scouting for Food a success. We collected a total of 6,533 food items. This was a great effort by Troop 414 scouts and their parents who came to help make this food drive a success.
