To provide scouts in the troop an opportunity to "earn their way" Troop 414 has two fundraisers a year, selling popcorn and selling wreaths. It is with great appreciation that for the past several years Barbara Burton and Steve Belanger have managed wreath sales and Paul Rivard has managed the popcorn fundraiser. At this time they are looking to turn the reins over to new adults. The best way to make the transition would be for new adults to work with them this year. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved and give to the troop and scouting but with a shorter period of time commitment. If you are interested please contact them directly and let Steve Carter, Troop Committee Chair know.
On Thursday, September 18th, I will not be at the troop meeting. If you are ready for a rank advancement, please email me to put you on the list for Thursday, September 11th or Thursday, September 25th.
Aims and Methods of the Scouting Program The Scouting program has three specific objectives, commonly referred to as the "Aims of Scouting." They are character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. The methods by which the aims are achieved are listed below in random order to emphasize the equal importance of each.
